Albino mystery snails feature a striking light brown or amber shell with a pale foot, making them a visually appealing addition to any aquarium. These hardy snails (Pomacea bridgesii) are renowned algae eaters and have been aquarium favorites for decades. Available in multiple color varieties, they're exceptionally easy to breed and maintain. Unlike most snail species, mystery snails are distinctly male or female—males display a characteristic secondary appendage beside their siphon, which they use to access supplementary oxygen from the water's surface. Breeding is straightforward: females deposit eggs in distinctive pink styrofoam-like clusters above the waterline, typically on tank glass. Population management is simple—just remove egg masses before they hatch. Since these snails skip the larval stage entirely, they emerge as miniature adults ready to immediately begin consuming algae and detritus, making them excellent for maintaining tank cleanliness.
