Black and Blotched Molly
$13.99
Black Mollies are an excellent choice for beginners and community aquariums. These peaceful livebearers (Poecilia sphenops) reproduce readily, with females giving birth to live fry rather than laying eggs. To minimize stress, maintain a higher female-to-male ratio, as males can be persistent in their breeding behavior.
Reaching up to 4 inches, Black Mollies thrive in moderate hardness water with a pH of 7.5–8.2 and temperatures between 65–80°F. Native to Central America and captive bred for the aquarium hobby, they're hardy and adaptable to community setups.
Feed small flake or pellet foods supplemented with small frozen or live foods for optimal health and coloration.
