Brick Swordtails are an excellent choice for community aquariums. These peaceful livebearers reproduce readily and thrive in stable conditions. Females give birth to live fry, and it's best to maintain a higher female-to-male ratio to reduce breeding stress. Dominant males develop the characteristic sword and gonopodium around 1-1.5", though subordinate males may retain a female appearance until 4" or larger.
Tank Mates: Schooling fish, livebearers, rainbowfish, dwarf cichlids, peaceful cichlids under 5", invertebrates, and Loricariids.
