Mexican Dwarf Orange Crayfish (CPO) are small, curious, and entertaining aquarium residents known for their bright orange coloring. Native to Mexico and parts of the southern United States, these crayfish are opportunistic hunters that may attack smaller fish or invertebrates, especially at night. They may also nibble plants and view them as food.

CPOs require hiding spaces and mineral sources like shells or mineral stones to support molting and protect them during their vulnerable soft-shell periods. They're best kept alone due to their aggressive nature and need for security during molting cycles. Avoid housing them with small fish or delicate invertebrates to prevent conflict.
