Red Shoulder Rotkeil Severum
CAPTIVE BRED
The Red Shoulder Rotkeil Severum is a striking and uncommon cichlid native to Peru and other regions of the Amazon. Known for its vivid coloration, this species features a distinctive reddish-orange stripe running from the top of its head down to its chin, earning it the nickname "Necktie severum." It can be distinguished from hybrid red shoulder severums by its eight vertical bars and a notably larger orange-red shoulder patch. While generally peaceful like other severums, its considerable size means it should not be housed with smaller fish that could be mistaken for prey.
